The Ceiling is a vintage shop (formerly The Ceiling shop) evolved into a digital magazine and shopping platform. This new chapter of The Ceiling creates order in the online shopping chaos, resulting in the ultimate luxury platform for long-term wardrobe choices and insightful styling content.

The Ceiling offers an online inspiration experience, with in-depth backstories and sustained attiring choices, alongside a curated selection of luxury vintage pieces. Focused on those who revel in the subtle pleat of an Issey Miyake top, a nautical reference on a Prada skirt or the sharp shoulders of a vintage shoulder-padded Thierry Mugler jacket. The Ceiling’s curated collection contains carefully hand-picked pieces with a focus on quality, an appreciation for detail, a deep knowledge of fashion history, and a touch of sprezzatura.


1987, Founder and co-owner

The Ceiling Shop traces its origins to the creative vision of Charon Cooijmans: a former model who spent most of her spare time thrifting the finest vintage delights that Paris and New York had to offer. Starting her modeling career right after her Fashion & Branding studies in Amsterdam, Charon walked shows for Maison Martin Margiela, Ann Demeulemeester, Phoebe Philo era Céline, and appeared in magazines such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and ELLE. Since the dawn of The Ceiling Shop, she works as a (vintage) curator and fashion consultant.


1989, Co-owner

Armed with a degree in Journalism, Stephanie began as a fashion features editor for five years before taking flight as a freelance. Her work appeared in Vogue, ELLE, Numéro and TeenVogue. In 2021, Stephanie signed with Patriksson Talent in Stockholm. She works with an exclusive clientele list such as Chanel, Hermès, Maison Margiela, Saint Laurent and digital fashion giants such as Farfetch, Browns, and Matches Fashion.
