OUR SUMMER HOTLIST

Does your wardrobe need a summer update? We've got you covered. Introducing our holiday hotlist, and the good news is a lot of it is on sale.

1. Low scoop and under boob 

Exposure in the right places (and on the right occasions) can be surprisingly sophisticated. Our craving for a serious low scoop began with this Saint Laurent silk tank top (in black here), which Coperni translated into a more practical fit (here in black and white). The Saint Laurent scoop neck silk long-sleeved t-shirt or v-neck, which can be worn all year around with the right layering on colder days, made it to the top of our wishlist. Just when we thought the underboob trend was behind us, Rick Owens brought it roaring back with the provocatively named Horny Crop Top —available in black, gray and red. We'd style it with nothing less than high-waisted trousers. For a bit more coverage but no less attitude, try the Rick Owens Unhorny Crop Top (on sale)—still very much a showstopper.

2. Leather flip-flop's

While we’re forever fans of Birkenstock (here and here our favorite Arizona leather sandals from the Birkenstock 1774 collection), you officially can’t go without a chic, simple leather toe slipper this summer—or any summer, for that matter. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen elevated the beach flip-flop to wardrobe staple status in the 2000s and have been reminding us ever since. At the top of our flip-flop list is the simple yet intriguing Maison Margiela tabi toe slipper in black and white. But if you really want to splurge on this classic breezy footwear, The Row City leather flip-flop might just be the one for you. These more affordable Ancient Greek Sandals slippers in off-white, black, red or metallic are a great pick, as are the Filippa K shearling-lined leather sandals (in off-white here and both on sale). We can't deny the effect of the evergreen Toteme leather thong slippers with kitten heels —perfect for work, weddings, and long summer nights. Yet, if anyone understands the art of making a toe thong exhilarating, it’s Fidan Novruzova. These white and black Kaia Stiletto Heels have tantalized our shopping cart for far too long now.

3. Stocking up on shorts

Shorts are part of our religion, as Charon proved in our last newsletter (insert link naar je vorige nieuwsbrief?). If you’re not a fan yet, it’s probably because you haven’t found your ideal fit. We’re sharing all our summer favorites in different styles and lengths, starting with dressed-up options: the gray Hodakova suit shorts sold out in a flash, (black available here) soon followed by the Peter Do Pleated wool-blend culottes, that look like an ultra chic midi skirt at first glance. For a more classic bermuda look, opt for these Miu Miu’s, Toteme or Nili Lotan (on sale). 

As temperatures rise we grab for menswear-inspired poplin boxer shorts, combined with a basic tank top, swimwear, or a poplin shirt. The Row Gunther boxer shorts are definitely our favorite, but these, these and these (all under 100 euros) are great alternatives. With a penchant for athletic-inspired fashion, you'll spot us in Adidas  x Wales Bonner tech shorts (on sale) and the Fidan Novruzova Giada Bow Shorts in forest green or burgundy for summers ahead. And while capri leggings may stretch the definition of shorts, they effortlessly embody summer style when paired with a fitted tank top and a statement belt. Another notable investment in a distinct three quarters length comes in the form of these exquisite Alaïa balloon shorts.

4. XL Beach bags and everything terry

The timeless charm of a spacious beach bag never fades, yet every summer, we find ourselves on the hunt for the perfect one. KASSL’s latest release, the canvas tote, might just mark the end of our search (black/oil green and black/oil black are our favorites). Then there's The Row Idaho tote bag in either leather or canvas, an obsession we can’t shake. It seamlessly complements any daily uniform, be it summer or winter, and—most importantly—can hold your entire life. Like soft terry beach towels and coverups, such as this Alaia cropped terry hoodie and Balenciaga towel skirt (also in black).

5. Statement pants/skirt

Michelle del Rio is a multifaceted fashion designer celebrated for her dedication to cultural heritage and craftsmanship. Influenced by her Colombian, Mexican, and Spanish roots, as well as her U.S. upbringing, she imbues her designs with historical attire, blending traditional craftsmanship with local self-production. The result? A captivating summer collection highlighted by bestselling low-waist, two-toned Soledad Skirt (currently on sale), perfect for effortless summer styling. Adding an unexpected twist to our summer hotlist is the recently launched brand Teget, with their unisex 3D-printed five-pocket pants. The Teget x Unspun Static Noise Pant in Snake, a collaboration between Teget’s founder and designer Ana Kraš and Unspun, is a real innovative piece and our latest summer fascination.

6. Cuffs and links

We adore a good statement bracelet, especially when paired with sleeveless tops and swimwear under the summer sun. Our ultimate favorite link bracelet, and justifiably part of The Ceiling’s Stephanie's uniform, is the iconic Tiffany & Co large link bracelet, closely followed by the hardware-inspired Sophie Buhai grandfather silver bracelet. However, we've recently developed an insatiable craving for cuffs. Our latest treasure find, the Sophie Buhai Katia silver bracelet exudes both traditional and contemporary Greek goddess allure, and we can’t seem to get over it. The ultimate classic Tiffany & Co Small bone cuff, Sophie Buhai Deren bracelet, Sophie Buhai Metzner silver cuff and Sophie Buhai forever bracelet fit right into that same category. A more modern, sculptural piece that mesmerizes us is the Ivy bracelet by Charlotte Chesnais, made from yellow gold and silver that flows around the wrist and hand. Other standout pieces in this collection include the Surma bracelet in gold vermeil and silver and the Round trip wrapped bracelet in gold vermeil.
